Robert Peyton "Bobby" Bynon Jr. is the Democratic Place 7 judge on the Jefferson County District Court in Alabama. He joined the court in January 2003 and was elected to a full six-year term in 2004. Bynon was re-elected in 2010 won re-election again in the general election on November 8, 2016.

Education

Bynon received his A.S. degree from Walker Junior College and his B.A. degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He then went on to the Birmingham School of Law, where he earned his J.D. degree in 1981.

Career

Bynon was admitted to the practice of law on April 29, 1983.[1] He then worked as a private practice lawyer in the Adamsville-Forestdale area until he became a judge in 2003. He was also a Graysville Municipal Judge from 1998 to 2003. In addition, he has served as an attorney for the Police Benevolent Association and as a Daily Master for Domestic Relations in the Birmingham Division.[2]

Alabama held general elections for local judicial offices in 2016. A primary election took place on March 1, 2016, with a primary runoff on April 12, 2016. The general election was held on November 8, 2016.

Incumbent Robert P. Bynon Jr. defeated Virginia P. Meigs in the general election for the Jefferson County District Court Place 7 seat.[3]
