Robert Pagane (Republican Party) (also known as R. J.) ran in a special election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to represent District 34. He lost in the special general election on February 7, 2023.

Biography
Robert Pagane was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pagane graduated from the Allegheny County Police Academy in 1989. His career experience includes working as a police officer. Pagane has been affiliated with the International Police Work Dog Association and the Fraternal Order of Police.[1]

|- Safety matters. If our streets are safe businesses will come. If our streets are safe persons seeking home ownership will shop here. If our schools are safe our children can learn and their parents can feel confident that their child is in a secure learning environment.
- Our elderly residents face tremendous tax burdens, regardless of political affiliation. Taxes do no discriminate. Harrisburg seems not to care. It is time someone make a stand to find ways to lesson the taxation of our senior citizens. I have a plan.
- I have lived here most of my life. I know this area. Gaining this house seat is not a stepping stone. I have had my career. Now I want to fight for this district and help raise it from the ashes. Party affiliations do not concern me. We are all in this struggle together.
Taxes in Pennsylvania remain on the rise. They affect everyone including a tremendous impact on our seniors. The system is imperfect and unfair. I am willing to suggest better ways and convince others to join me in the fight.
I believe in being honest, cooperative and ethical.
Our education systems are failing. The research and data will clearly reveal that. We rank very low amongst the 50 states.Changes need to be made. That cannot be ignored or denied any longer.
