I am the first immigrant elected to office in Doraville and served as a Councilman for eight years. During this time, I served as Doraville Mayor Pro Tem and as President and Vice-President of the DeKalb Municipal Association. I consistently advocated for walkability, parks and recreation, code enforcement, public safety, effective government, and jobs. Under my leadership, the city removed government red tape and streamlined the process for opening a small business. I led the creation of a tax allocation district that brought a major commercial film studio and a nationwide corporate office to the community and laid the groundwork for future growth in the largest viable redevelopment project in the southeast. I also supported Doraville becoming the second jurisdiction in the State of Georgia to adopt the Non-Discrimination Ordinance.
  • Flip the First! With your support, we can flip District 1 DeKalb County Board of Commissioners to the first Democrat to hold the seat in 30 to 40 years!
  • An experienced leader with a track record of success!
  • Collaboration between commissioners and our neighborhoods!
I am passionate about making government work for people. I have experience with economic development, planning and treating people with respect. By focusing on these areas, I believe we can make DeKalb a more desirable place to live.
DeKalb County is party of the old economic core of Metro Atlanta. As a community that developed quickly after WWII, it was one of the best counties to live in based on education, jobs, transportation and housing. I believe that as a DeKalb County Commissioner I can help our neighborhoods regain their desirability and to make our county a job center.
I have a track record of success, a willingness to listen and understand our residents' concerns to find the best solution.
I would like to have DeKalb County in the best position for economic growth, transportation, housing and overall quality of life for our current and future residents.
My first job outside of my parents' business, was working for my Judo coach. I worked for his company doing everything from landscape maintenance for his rental properties to applying commercial and industrial floor coatings. I learned that while hard work builds character, I needed to work smarter. This motivated me to go to school and graduate from the University of Georgia.
My favorite books series are Percy Jackson and the Chronicle of Narnia. I have reach both to my kids.
I believe the most important responsibility of this office is the commitment to collaboration with our unique communities, from the residents that live in cities to the independent neighborhoods such as Embry Hills, Henderson Mill and Briar Lake.
As I mentioned above, the office has the ability to engage our residents and communities for more collaborative leadership.
Yes. I believe that my experience, combined with a track record of investing in our parks and neighborhoods in addition to attracting jobs, are important qualities to bring to this office. I will be ready to work on day one.
Understanding that your fellow commissioners and residents also have priorities and that it you listen to their concerns you can find common ground.
