Robert Beezer
Robert R. Beezer was a federal appeals judge with the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit based in San Francisco. He joined the court in 1984 after being nominated by President Ronald Reagan. He assumed senior status on July 31, 1996 and served until his death on March 30, 2012.
Early life and education
Born in Seattle, Washington, Beezer graduated from University of Virginia with his bachelor's degree in 1951 and later from the University of Virginia School of Law, earning his Law degree in 1956. Beezer served as a Lieutenant in the United States Marine CorpsReserves from 1951 to 1953.[1]
Professional career
Beezer was a private practice attorney in the State of Washington from 1956 to 1984 and served as a Judge pro tem in the Seattle Municipal Court from 1962 to 1976.[1]
Federal judicial career
Ninth Circuit
Beezer was nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit by President Ronald Reagan on March 2, 1984 to a seat vacated by Eugene Allen Wright. Beezer was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on March 27, 1984 on a Senate vote and received commission on March 28, 1984. He assumed senior status on July 31, 1996 and served until his death on March 30, 2012.[1]
