Robert "Robin" Simpson, Jr. is a former judge on the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court. He was elected to the court on November 6, 2001, and sworn in on January 6, 2002. He was retained by voters in 2011.[1]

Simpson retired in August 2019.[2]

Education

Simpson earned his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Dickinson College in 1973. He earned his J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law in 1976.[1]

Career

Judge Simpson began his career as a law clerk to Judge Glenn E. Mencer of the Commonwealth Court (1976 - 1978). He then practiced law until 1989 when he was elected judge of the Northampton County Court of Common Pleas. He served in this position until joining the Commonwealth Court in 2002. He also taught as an Adjunct Professor at the Dickinson School of Law from 1998 to 2005.[1]

Simpson was retained to the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, receiving a "yes" vote of 72.8%.[3][4]
