Biography
Robert Steigmann graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in 1965 and a J.D. in 1968.[1] Steigmann began his career in 1968 as a staff attorney with the Legislative Reference Bureau and an assistant state's attorney in Sangamon and Champaign counties. He was then elected as a circuit court judge in 1976. He served in this position until joining the appellate court in 1989.[1]
