Robert "Twixx" Taylor, a proud father and native of North Las Vegas, epitomizes the values of community and entrepreneurship, backed by my demonstrated leadership skills. I've been honored to receive numerous trailblazer awards from esteemed figures such as senators, congressmen, and the City of Las Vegas. However, the greatest reward for me is the opportunity to serve you as a councilman. My platform, Community, Commerce, and Change, is fueled by a clear purpose, and I invite you to explore how these pillars align with my campaign goals below.
  • Community: If elected, I will tirelessly advocate for you. In prioritizing community, safety takes precedence. Supporting our law enforcement and first responders fosters not only protection but also genuine connections within our community.
  • Commerce: As a small business owner, I am committed to not only supporting local businesses but also promoting them extensively, forging partnerships that encourage both small and large corporations to flourish in Nevada's most diverse city. "Build it, and they will come" is more than a cliché; it's a testament to the potential of strategic investments in long-term planning for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. Such investments will not only increase revenue but also foster a happy and motivated community.
  • Change: is inevitable in a city like North Las Vegas, which has doubled in size in the past 20 years. Embracing this growth requires vision and adaptability to ensure that our city continues to thrive. We will utilize the best of the best in our own community from our multiskilled veterans, non profits, and public and private educators to all participate in the positive influence from our school system to community involvement where stakeholders feel like team players in Ward 2!
Public Safety: Initiatives to improve law enforcement, emergency response services, and crime prevention strategies.

Infrastructure Development: Planning and funding for roads, public transportation, and utilities to support the city's growth and connectivity.
Zoning and Land Use: Regulations governing land development, zoning ordinances, and urban planning to ensure sustainable growth and community development.
Economic Development: Programs to attract businesses, support local entrepreneurship, and stimulate job creation.

Housing Affordability: Policies to address housing affordability, homelessness, and housing assistance programs for low-income residents.
I hold immense respect for my immediate family and look up to all of them. My father, distinguished by his intelligence, charm, and impeccable style. My mother, a trailblazer as the first Black manager and director of the PBX department in the Flamingo Hilton’s history. My older brother's diverse talents and his service in the Marines, including during Desert Storm, served as a source of inspiration, while my oldest sister's appearance on Oprah Winfrey's pioneering reality TV show showcased her prowess as a top-tier serial entrepreneur. Growing up surrounded by such accomplished individuals, I felt truly fortunate; my family members were the shining stars in my life, negating any need to seek out celebrity elsewhere.
I believe all elected officials should consistently prioritize transparency and accountability. Every decision made by the council should not merely aim for short-term fixes or immediate financial gains for the city but should instead focus on long-term investments that benefit our children, grandchildren, and future generations. Just as a driver looks ahead to reduce the risk of making mistakes, elected officials should adopt the same forward-thinking approach.
As a serial entrepreneur, my experience translates effectively into being a successful city council member. My ability to identify opportunities, adapt to change, and manage multiple ventures helps me navigate complex municipal issues, foster economic development, and promote innovation within the community. Moreover, my experience in problem-solving, networking, and leadership enables me to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, advocate for constituents, and drive positive change as an elected official on the city council for Ward 2.
A councilman's role involves representing the interests of their constituents within their local government. They participate in decision-making processes regarding policies, budgets, and ordinances that affect the community. Councilmen also serve as a liaison between residents and city administration, addressing concerns, advocating for improvements, and facilitating communication. Additionally, they may contribute to long-term planning for the city's development, collaborate with other officials and community leaders, and oversee the implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents.
My aspirations are centered on community improvement, devoid of any self-serving agenda. My numerous goals and ambitious ideas are aimed solely at fostering a better community. I am committed to working alongside fellow council members, leveraging our collective capacities to fulfill this vision and establish a lasting legacy of positive change.
I vividly remember the launch of the Space Shuttle Challenger in 1987. At the time, I was attending Saint Christopher for private school in North Las Vegas, and we had all crafted spaceships in arts and crafts time to mimic the launch. As we watched the shuttle take off into space, we were so exited. However, within moments, tragedy struck as the shuttle exploded. It was a defining moment for me at the age of eight, witnessing the contrast between jubilation and sorrow in an instant. This event taught me a valuable lesson: even in our most triumphant moments, unforeseen tragedy can occur. It underscored the importance of living life to the fullest, as nothing is ever guaranteed.
My very first job was Smith’s in North las Vegas as a bag boy. This was seasonal.
“ The Secret “. This is my favorite book because anything positive in life is aligned with the thought process of this book.
Marty McFly From the movie Back to the Future. That way I can spend more time with my brother and Father who are both deceased.
Sunroof by Nicky Your. I heard this song while in Vancouver Canada, and it became my happy song. 😁
Watching people fail only due to the lack of information and resources that they had in their life.
Knock Knock… sooooooo I guess after you read this, and see me in real life you can ask me who’s there… 😂😂
