Robert Teuton
Robert Teuton is a judge for Department D of the Nevada 8th Judicial District Court Family Division. He assumed office in 2010. His current term ends on January 4, 2027.
Teuton ran for re-election for the Department D judge of the Nevada 8th Judicial District Court Family Division. He won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Teuton was previously appointed to the court by former Governor Jim Gibbons on August 28, 2008, and assumed office on September 29, 2008. Teuton was removed from the bench on November 12, 2009, by the Nevada Supreme Court because he did not run in the 2008 election after receiving his appointment. He was appointed three days after the 2008 filing deadline.[1][2][3] He was reappointed to the court in 2010.

Teuton received his undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California, in 1974 and his J.D. from the Texas Tech University Law School in 1977.[3]

2013 judicial performance evaluation
In 2013, the Las Vegas Review-Journal sponsored a survey of 902 lawyers who rated Nevada Supreme Court justices and judges located in Clark County. 81 percent of respondents voted in favor of keeping Teuton on the bench. The average vote in favor of retention for all 88 judges evaluated was 71 percent.[6]
