Local boy went to Mars high School till 1975 Joined US Air Force and server 20 years on active duty. Retired as a decorated Technical Sergeant. After returning to Valencia I was elected and served two term as Constable and currently on my second term on the Valencia town Council. Also serving on the Mars Library board as technical consultant to the librarian. Appoint by the County Commissioners to the Butler County Library Board. This is important because the impact libraries have on the student education. I have a beautiful daughter, Thailia, and two wonderful grand children, Meagan and Luke. I am also a member of St Killians Parish in Cranberry Township
  • Womans rights are Human rights that they are the one who should be making the choice
  • Increase the Minimum wage to a living wage of $15 an hour in Pennsylvania.
  • Clean energy, Clean water a healthier population
Woman's right to make their own choices on healthcare which includes medications such as the pill which some states are trying to ban. Yet they refuse to acknowledge the pill is not just used as a contraceptive.
Protective care for the elderly including taxation issues. Elderly tend to be on a fixed income and can not afford the escalating taxes and inflation. I advocate the removal of property taxes for elderly so they can live more comfortably without the fear of becoming indigent. Also Medicare should be negotiating drugs prices and use the cloud to get fair and lower prices for the elderly. Medicare has risen to $170 a month for low end which was approximately a $40 dollar increase. Again we need to take care of our elder members as they have been paying taxes for over 50 years in most cases . The break in taxes needs to be put in place for the elderly
I had a teacher in 9 grade named David Chavkin. He was our science teacher at Knoxville Jr HS in Pittsburgh. I always Respected his views. Although his politics were a little left he always advocated keeping an open mind. That is what stuck with me. I found out years.
Another who influence me but i never got to tell him was Jack Hickton. He was a lawyer in Pittsburgh who who got involved with me because of the big brothers program. I learned a lot and in my youth probably had more respect for who he was and the way he was involved in so many aspect in the community. He became the District attorney and his son served in the Obama administration. Talk about a great influence
I was Seven when JFK was assonated and remember watching the CBS news that carried the aftermath quite extensively. This goes hand in hand with the Mercury space flights that was also on CBS. I remember well because both had Walter Cronkite. Through the years I was very aware of local news reported mostly on TV. I was In Europe when Reagan was shot and experienced how the rest of the world was reacting to the tragic news.
United States Air Force - Active duty 20 years - Retired as a Technical Sergeant - Job Entailed working various aircraft Avionics systems. This included the B52G bomber, KC-135 and the nationally important RC-135S model. I was Swing shit supervisor and later became an instructor of Special Operations aircraft Avionics.
First and foremost there needs to be a dialog that is open and honest with all party's in state government . There needs to be an understanding they as the Governor promotes his own agenda the legislature is and always will be in the loop. So a certain amount of cooperation will only benefit the people of Pennsylvania and especially for the ones in my district that have been ignored by the outgoing Rep due to his never compromise agenda. I want a governor that will listen as i will listen and also give my feedback to what is said no matter the party.
infrastructure is a serious concern for most areas. Pittsburgh has more bridges than Venice and they need to be maintained. Our roads also as in a local road known as Rt 228 which goes from two lane to four back to two and than four again. This has been ignored by the Outgoing Rep in his whole of 24 years in office. We also have issue and questions about the electrical grid in this district and water. District 12 is growing an an enormous rate. With the growth come fears that there is no plan in Harrisburg to match the growth with the infrastructure. We need to work on Tax reform so we can pay for upgrades as needed and not bankrupt the people and the state. We need to look ahead and plan for a future.
Compromise and negotiation but reality as well. There was a time when we would do it because we care about democracy. I fear that ideology is taking over and extremist are preventing responsibility and reasonable actions from prevailing. it is my objective to reach across the aisle and make the attempt. But with that being said I will move forward with out hesitation as soon as it becomes obvious that compromise is not possible.
