Robin J. Cauthron is a federal judge on senior status with the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. She joined the court in 1991 after being nominated by President George H.W. Bush.
Early life and education
Born in Edmond, Oklahoma, Cauthron graduated from the University of Oklahoma with her bachelor's degree in 1970, from Central State University with her master's degree in education in 1974, and from the University of Oklahoma College of Law with her J.D. in 1977.[1]

Cauthron was nominated to the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma by President George H.W. Bush on February 7, 1991, to a new seat created by 104 Stat. 5089. The American Bar Association rated Cauthron Unanimously Well Qualified for the nomination. Hearings on Cauthron's nomination were held before the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 13, 1991, and her nomination was reported by then-U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.) on March 21, 1991. Cauthron was confirmed by the unanimous consent of the U.S. Senate on March 21, 1991, and she received her commission on March 25, 1991. From 2001 to 2008, Cauthron served as the chief judge of the district court. She elected to take senior status beginning on July 14, 2015.[1][2][3]

Cauthron served as a federal magistrate judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma from 1986 to 1991.[1]
