Robin Jennison was the secretary of wildlife and parks in Kansas from 2011 to 2018. He was nominated for the role by Governor Sam Brownback (R) on January 7, 2011.[1] His appointment was unanimously confirmed (38-0) by the Kansas State Senate on May 2, 2011. He stepped down from the position on September 22, 2018 to become general manager of the Kansas State Fair.[2][3]

Jennison is the former speaker of the Kansas House of Representatives. Following his departure from the legislature in 2000, he worked in several jobs related to the outdoors and made an unsuccessful run for governor in 2006. Jennison also worked as a lobbyist for six years. His clients included the Wichita Greyhound Park and other racing tracks.[4]

In 2011, Governor Sam Brownback named Jennison to the cabinet-level post of secretary of wildlife and parks for the state of Kansas.[1] He stepped down from the position on September 22, 2018 to become general manager of the Kansas State Fair.[3]

Jennison was appointed as Kansas Secretary of Wildlife and Parks by Gov. Sam Brownback (R) on January 7, 2011.[1]

While some sportsmen and department employees expressed concern about Jennison's previous connections to commercialized hunting legalization and operations, the Kansas State Senate unanimously confirmed Jennison 38-0 on May 2, 2011.[5]
