The Board of Education recognizes that effective learning and teaching takes place in a safe, secure and welcoming environment and that safe schools contribute to improved attendance, increased student achievement and community support. Safe schools are a priority of the district, and the district is committed to providing a safe environment in school, on school vehicles and at school-sponsored activities. The primary job of a school board member is to set policies and make decisions that ensure the school district provides high-quality education for all students. This includes overseeing budgets, hiring and evaluating the superintendent, setting educational goals, and representing the interests of the community.
Students, Parents and families, Teachers, faculty, staff, School administrators, Community members and local residents, Local businesses and organizations.

Advocate for increased state and federal funding through active engagement with legislators.
Ensuring clear communication of available services to students, staff, and families.
Engaging and interactive, with hands-on, real-world learning opportunities.
Encourage parent involvement in school activities and decision-making committees.
