Robin Lee Rosenberg is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. On February 26, 2014, President Barack Obama nominated Rosenberg to fill a vacancy on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.[1] The United States Senate confirmed Rosenberg on July 22, 2014, on a vote of 100-0.[2]
Prior to joining the court, she was a judge of the 15th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. She was elected without opposition in November of 2006 and took office on January 2, 2007. She was re-elected in 2012.[3][4]
Biography
Education
Rosenberg received her bachelor's degree in politics from Princeton University in 1983.[5] She then received an M.A. degree from Duke University-Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy in 1989 and a J.D. degree from the Duke University School of Law that same year.[6]

Robin L. Rosenberg was nominated on February 26, 2014, by President Barack Obama. She was nominated to fill a vacancy on United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida that was created when Adalberto Jordan was elevated to the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit in 2012.[1] President Barack Obama said of the nomination:
“ | I am pleased to nominate this distinguished individual to serve on the United States District Court bench. Judge Rosenberg has a long and impressive record of service, and I am confident she will serve on the federal bench with distinction.[1][8] | ” |
The American Bar Association rated Rosenberg Unanimously Qualified for the nomination.[9]
The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing for Rosenberg on May 20, 2014, the full hearing can be seen here.[10] The Senate Judiciary Committee reported Rosenberg to the full Senate on June 19, 2014, on a voice vote.[11] Rosenberg received unanimous confirmation from the Senate on July 22, 2014.[2]

Rosenberg was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.[12]
Noteworthy events
DOJ request to unseal Epstein grand jury transcripts (2025)
On July 23, 2025, Rosenberg dismissed a U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) request to unseal transcripts from two grand juries convened in 2005 and 2007 regarding investigations into the activities of Jeffrey Epstein. Rosenberg wrote that longstanding precedent allows for few exceptions to grand jury secrecy rules, none of which she said the Department of Justice met in this case.[13][14]
