Robin Schmidt is a judge for the Northwest Judicial District Court in North Dakota. She was appointed to the court by Governor Jack Dalrymple on July 15, 2013.[1]

Schmidt's appointed term ended on January 1, 2017. She won election to a full six-year term in 2016.

Schmidt received her J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2004. Prior to her appointment to the Northwest Judicial District Court, ran her own legal practice, the Schmidt Law Firm. Schmidt worked for the Vogel Law Firm for five years before opening her firm. Schmidt also served as a law clerk for the North Dakota Supreme Court.[1][2]

There were four contested races that appeared on the ballot for the general election on November 8, 2016. Two of the contested races had open seats where the sitting judge did not seek re-election.
