Rochelle Curley

Rochelle Taylor Curley is a judge of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court in Sarasota County, Florida. She was elected on November 7, 2006 and took office the following January. She was re-elected in 2012 and her current term expires in January of 2019.[1][2][3][4]
Education
Curley was born in North Carolina. She received her B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Oklahoma in 1987 and 1993, respectively.[2]
Career
Curley began her career in 1993 as an assistant state attorney for the 12th Judicial Circuit. In 2001, she became staff counsel for Allstate Insurance. She then joined the law firm of Shapiro, Goldman & Babboni in 2004. In 2006, she was elected to the circuit court, becoming the first African American female judge in the 12th Circuit.[5]
2012 election
Curley was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.[6]
