Rocio Treminio-Lopez is an immigrant woman who was born and raised in El Salvador and at the age of 15 years old immigrated to the United States. Rocio Graduated from DC Public Schools and in 2020 earned her Human Resources Management Bachelor's degree from University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC). In 2015 I was elected the first Latina Mayor in the State of Maryland; I have serve the Town of Brentwood as the Mayor for the last 8 years. Rocio consider herself an independent woman, who empowers others to have a voice, vote, power, and strength in today's society.
  • Community Building - Community Building to overcome the conditions of inequity and poverty in the 47th district. As a Candidate for the State Senate, my fundamental commitment to society with education, culture and training for work, with health, with the family, childhood and nutrition, capable of generating greater equity, less poverty and greater human and social capital.
  • Economic Development- Business Growth In a district where small businesses contribute to the development of the district, it is important to bring equal resources to all minorities.
  • Education-Equality and equity in education in the most overpopulated sectors of the state.
Education- Access to better schools, from safe buildings to community engagements.

Environment -The current climate emergency requires that we all do our part to improve the situation.
Caring for the environment is a task that has become a priority for me because our planet earth has been undergoing drastic changes.

Taxes and high Gas prices- As the Mayor of the town of Brentwood I sponsored the Senior low income tax relief to help seniors to aged in place.
The Civil War in El Salvador, I experienced the war since I was born until the age of 13.

I took the Lead and Asbestos Removal Training and worked assisting the trainers.
