A Rockwood City Municipal Services Tax Levy proposal was approved on the May 7, 2013, election ballot in Wayne County, which is in Michigan.
This measure authorized the City of Rockwood to increase its property tax levy by 3.2275 mills ($3.2275 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) in order to fund fire and police services. The estimated first year revenue from this tax is $210,000.[1]

Language on the ballot:
| “ | Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be imposed on taxable property in the City of Rockwood, County of Wayne, Michigan be increased by 3.2275 mills ($3.2275 per thousand dollars of taxable value) as new additional millage in excess of the limitation imposed by Michigan Compiled Laws Section 211.34(d) to partially restore a portion of the millage previously approved by the electors to provide funds for restoring and maintaining general municipal services, including but not limited to police and fire, public works, parks and recreation and capital improvements throughout the City? It is estimated that, if levied, the 3.2275 mills would raise approximately $210,000 when first levied in 2013.[1][2] | ” |
