Campaign themes
2014
Sturgeon submitted the following statement to Ballotpedia regarding his political philosophy:[2]
“ |
I chose to run to give the voters of district 42 a choice. I, for one feel as though our current legislators did very little to help improve the lives of working families. I want to improve public education, and to work towards a more fair taxation policy, and to encourage business through worker training programs, not tax breaks that are passed on to working folks like myself. Many burdens have been aimed at working families like Right-To-Work, reduced taxes on the wealthiest, and the extremism from wealthy campaign contributions purchasing our political process. Medicaid expansion should be adopted to encourage an additional 24,000 jobs to our state and stop the flow of our federal tax dollars going to other states that have. [3] |
