Rodney Norman
Rodney Norman was a 2015 Democratic candidate for Ward 26 of the St. Louis, Missouri Board of Aldermen.
Biography
Norman earned his B.S. in business administration from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, in 1974. His professional experience includes working in information technology with the Monsanto Chemical Corporation from 1972 to 1982 and for PepsiCo from 1982 to 2007. He served in the U.S. Army from January 31, 1969, through October 12, 1970. He served in Vietnam. He was wounded by friendly fire and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Norman and his wife returned to St. Louis from the Dallas, Texas, area to start a real estate development business. They are both founding members of the West End Neighbors organization, where Norman served as chairman from May 2014 until his candidacy. Norman also served as a board member for the St. Louis Association of Community Organizations.[1]
Elections
2015
The city of St. Louis, Missouri, held elections for Board of Aldermen on April 7, 2015. A primary election took place on March 3, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was January 2, 2015.[2]
In the Democratic primary election for Ward 26, incumbent Frank A. Williamson defeated Rodney Norman. Fred Raines ran unopposed in the Green Party primary. Williamson defeated Raines in the general election on April 7.[3][4]
