Roger D. Staton
Roger D. Staton was a 2014 candidate for the Warren County Common Pleas Court General Division in Lebanon, Ohio.[1] He previously ran for a seat on the court in 2012.[2]

Staton ran for election to the Warren County Common Pleas Court General Division.
Primary: He ran unopposed in the Libertarian primary on May 6, 2014.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 16.6 percent of the vote. He competed against Robert Peeler and Craig Newburger.

Staton ran for election to the Warren County Common Pleas Court General Division. He was defeated by Donald E. Oda, II in the general election on November 6, receiving 36.07% of the vote.[2]
Education
Staton received his undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and his J.D. degree from the Ohio State University.[4]
Career
Staton maintains his own law practice in Lebanon, Ohio. He specializes in criminal, personal injury, legal malpractice, contracts, and civil rights law.[5]
Approach to the law
Speaking at a "Meet the Candidates" event in Warren County in 2014, Staton noted the following:
“ | It's not proper for--in my opinion, my personal opinion--for a judge to accept any recommendation, any endorsement from any political party or anybody serving in office. I will not accept any contributions of any money. I will not accept any endorsements. If anyone wants to vote for me, they're going to get someone who's going to be sitting on the bench who is going to be honest and fair and compassionate.[6] | ” |
