Roger Dorson
Roger Dorson is a former Missouri commissioner of education. He was appointed to the position on December 1, 2017, by the Missouri Board of Education. He replaced former officeholder Margie Vandeven, who was removed by the board on December 1 by a 5-3 vote.[1] He left office when Vandeven was again appointed in November 2018.
Biography
Dorson began his career in education teaching social studies in Macon, Mo. He was a principal and superintendent in Princeton, Mo, and was a superintendent in Salisbury, Mo. for 18 years. He worked for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in a variety of roles, including coordinator of school financial and administrative services and as deputy commissioner for the division of financial and administrative services.[2]
