Mattox has stated that he "believes in limited government, limited taxes, limited regulations and believes we should put Education back in the hands of local school boards and educators."[1]

Mattox ran in the 2012 election for Oklahoma House District 3. Mattox ran unopposed in the June 26 Republican primary and was defeated by incumbent James Lockhart in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4][5]
