Roger N. Rosengarten
Roger N. Rosengarten is a former justice of the Supreme Court 11th Judicial District, Civil Term, in Queens County, New York. He was first elected to this position in 1999. In 2008, he became a certificated justice and was re-certified until he left the court in 2013.[1]
Education
Rosengarten received his B.A. from the City University of New York City College in 1961 and his J.D. from the Brooklyn School of Law in 1972.[1]
Career
Rosengarten began his career in 1972 as an assistant district attorney for Queens County. He then worked as a law secretary/principal law clerk from 1977 to 1990, serving under Justice Martin Rodell (1977-1980), Surrogate Judge Louis Laurino (1980-1983) and Justice Fred Santucci (Appellate Term, 1983-1990).
Rosengarten began his own judicial career in 1991, when he joined the New York City Civil Court bench in Queens County. He served in that capacity through 1998. He was also an Acting Supreme Court Justice in 1997 and 1998. In 1999, he joined the Supreme Court.
Rosengarten has also taught as an adjunct professor at the City University of New York, Queens College (1984) and at the State University of New York, Farmingdale (1991-1998).[1]
