Two of the five seats on the Leon County Schools school board were up for at-large primary election on August 30, 2016. Two newcomers filed for the District 2 seat: Rosanne Wood and Roger Pinholster. Wood won the seat outright when she received more than 50 percent of the votes cast. In District 4, incumbent Dee Dee Rasmussen also won re-election outright. She defeated challengers Tallie Gainer III and Patrick Cannon.[1][2]
