Elections for the South Dakota House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. The general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 25, 2014. Incumbent Roger Solum and Lee Schoenbeck were unopposed in the Republican primary. Solum and Schoenbeck were unopposed in the general election.[7][8][9]

Solum ran for re-election to one of two seats in District 5 of the South Dakota House of Representatives. Also running were Melissa Magstadt (R) and Jeff Dunn (D).[11] J. Maurice Redmond (D) withdrew from the race, and John Wiles (R) was eliminated in the primary election. Melissa Magstadt (R) and Roger Solum (R) won election in the November 2 general election.[12]
