Campaign themes

2017

Ammanamanchi's campaign website included the following themes:

WHY ARE YOU RUNNING FOR MAYOR?

  • I’m running for Mayor because I believe that Atlanta is on-track to become a world-class city, but the City government is not acting fast enough to keep up with development and our crumbling infrastructure. The people of Atlanta deserve rapid implementation of practical solutions that would accelerate the infrastructure and policy changes that we need to equitably fix and develop each of our diverse neighborhoods.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH?

  • I will personally take Dept of Public Works to every single street in Atlanta and fix every road that is broken, add sidewalks where they are needed, fix flooding issues, etc. and get it all done in the span of 4 years. I'll use a map as a checklist and it will be publicly accessible so you can always know where I've been and where I haven't been yet.
  • I plan to reverse car-centric street designs and introduce sustainable practices to rapidly restore connectivity and accessibility in Atlanta.
  • I will work with citizens and businesses to foster development that works for all. I will be thoughtful in gathering the actual priorities and needs from each neighborhood and work to come up with holistic and fulfilling solutions.
  • I will also be strategic in developing public-private partnerships which incentivize specific businesses to participate in designing and building public amenities that improve their area directly.
  • I will break the cycle of inaction, incompetence, and exclusiveness of the City's leadership that has broken promises and hindered progress for decades.
  • I hope to lead advancements in transportation, infrastructure, affordable housing, and community development that will bring economic prosperity to every neighborhood and equitably address the needs of every citizen and business in Atlanta, present, and future.

WHAT IS YOUR VISION FOR ATLANTA?

  • Fix the traffic disaster!
  • Transit that is not slower than walking
  • Every neighborhood thriving with opportunities
  • Sustainable community development
  • No Food Deserts
  • Innovation with technology to improve all city processes.
  • Transparency, accountability, and civic engagement like never before.
  • Projects rolled out in phases that can not only be successful on its own, but also easily tie into existing and future infrastructure.[4][5]
