Biography

Roland Rainey Jr. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1993 to 2022. Rainey earned a high school diploma from Assumption High School, a bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in 2003, a graduate degree from Troy University in 2008, and a second graduate degree from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in 2017. His career experience includes working as a director of business development, satellite command and control operator, space surveillance operator, intelligence community space operator, business owner, and football coach and scout. He has served as chairman of the Pikes Peak Area Council of Government Community Advisory Committee, member of the Banning Lewis School Board of Directors, commissioner of the 4th Judicial District Nominating Commission, vice-president of the Broadmoor Winter Night Club, and Precinct 402 Leader.[1]

I have over 30 years of robust experience leading small to large organizations in the business sector, military, aerospace industry, sports, and local community. I have successfully managed Department of Defense national security assets valued at over $6 billion and as an entrepreneur, I know how to effectively manage critical resources which will aid greatly in assessing the city’s budget. My previous experience as a civilian Public Safety Officer and in Emergency Management will help me in working with our first responders. I have successfully performed volunteer work across our city (Chair, Pikes Peak Area Council of Gov't Community Advisory Committee and Commissioner, 4th Judicial District Nominating Commission). I was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
