Rolando Acosta (New York)
Rolando Acosta was a judge for the 1st Department of the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division. He assumed office in 2008. He left office on March 17, 2023.

Acosta was elected to the New York County State Supreme Court in 2002 and was appointed to the appellate division by Gov. Eliot Spitzer (D) in January 2008.[1] Acosta ran unopposed for re-election in the general election on November 8, 2016.
Biography
Acosta is an immigrant from the Dominican Republic. He graduated from Columbia College in 1979 and from Columbia University College of Law in 1982. He played baseball in college. He is now married and has two children. Acosta worked for the Legal Aid Society as an attorney-in-charge and director of government and community relations. He also worked as the deputy commissioner of law enforcement (and later commissioner) of the Human Rights Commission for former Mayor David Dinkin. In 1997, he was elected to a civil court judgeship in New York County and in 2002 he was elected to a state supreme court.[1]
