An effort to recall District 20 Nashville Metro Council Member Rollin Horton is underway in Nashville, Tennessee.[1]

We, the undersigned registered and qualified voters of Metropolitan Council District 20, pursuant to Article 15, Section 15.07 of the Metropolitan Charter, hereby demand a RECALL ELECTION for the removal of Council Member ROLLIN HORTON and the election of a successor to that office. Removal is sought for the following reason(s):

Recall opponents
Speaking to WKRN News 2, Horton said, "The petition alleges lack of adequate public notice and engagement for The Nations Neighborhood Plan, which is something that our neighborhood worked on collaboratively for over two years by almost 30 different community meetings, with churches, with neighborhood associations, with HOAs, with local businesses and others." Horton said, "So I was surprised to learn of the recall petition."[4]
Horton also said, "The use of a recall petition to fight policy differences is inappropriate; it’s meant to be used to combat serious allegations of misconduct."[4]

No specific grounds are required for recall in Tennessee. The number of petition signatures required to put a recall on the ballot as well as the amount of time allowed to circulate petitions varies by office type.[5][6][7]
The deadline to submit signatures is November 3, 2025.[1]
