Ron Allen
Ron Allen (b. March 25, 1953, in Salt Lake City, UT) was a member of the Utah Public Service Commission. He was appointed to the commission by Governor Gary Herbert (R) on May 20, 2020, to replace Jordan White.[1][2][3] He served the remainder of White's unexpired term, which ended on February 28, 2023.
Allen previously served as a member and chairman of the Utah Public Service Commission from 2005 to 2015. He was first appointed to the position on March 18, 2005, by then-Governor Jon Huntsman (R). He was reappointed to a second six-year term on February 28, 2011, and resigned from the commission in June 2015. Gov. Gary Herbert appointed Jordan White to replace Allen on the commission. Commissioner Thad LeVar replaced Allen as chief of the commission.[4][5][6]
Biography
A former self-employed business and technology consultant, Allen has owned and operated a number of businesses. Prior to his appointment to the UPSC, Allen was a member of the Utah State Senate.[4]

Allen first served as a member of the Utah Public Service Commission from March 2005 to June 2015.[5] He was later appointed to the commission in May 2020.[1]

Allen served as a member of the Utah State Senate from 1998 to 2005, including a stint as Senate Minority Whip.[7]
