In a society of specialists, I am a decathlete. I have operated in several business sectors over my career to include all walks of media life, entertainment, logistics, banking, financial services, sports, publishing, winery industry and big box retail. Due to these variety of experiences, I am well groomed to take on the many serious issues we are faced with nationally, in Hawaii and our communities. I have always maintained that one has to seek to understand before you can seek to be understood. With this philosophy and a foundation of diverse operational fundamentals, I sincerely believe I can make a difference for Hawaii as your representative. I have a degree in Pre-Law Political Science from University of Texas @ Arlington and a Sports Management Certificate from Columbia University and I am ready to get to work NOW!
  • Deregulation is the father of fascism. The US has been on a very aggressive deregulation path for several decades, primarily in banking, the media and agriculture and these conglomerates need to be broken up.
  • Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
  • Be informed, be engaged and be involved, let's work together!
Re-regulation of highly over consolidated industries, banking, media and agriculture. This really started heavily in the 1980s. In 1980, we had about 9,000 companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange, today we have about 2,950 listed on the NYSE. There really is no such thing as anti-trust, these industries are chain monopolies and power and money are heavily over consolidated. We have to have forced government divestitures in these industries. As it is, it is to easy to price fix and the supply chains are very vulnerable. The aggressive mergers and acquisition activity brought high efficiency to the supply chain but now if there is a problem, as the recent pandemic has shown us, the chain gets broken. You no longer have a wide choice of suppliers to reach out to if one or more suppliers fails. We have seen what over consolidation in the media has brought us, fake news and turmoil. In 1982, when President Reagan deregulated the media industry, we had 54 media companies, today, there are only 6 majors ones and they control virtually every broadcast and digital media outlets. This is simply not healthy for the USA, not for any country for that matter. We have to fix it!
