A long-time Chandler resident and small business owner, Ron Hardin is deeply invested in our local economy and community. He has served Chandler through volunteer boards and city commissions, bringing practical experience and a commitment to public service.

A native of Kansas City, Kansas, and relocating to Phoenix from Lenexa, Kansas, in 1995, Ron Hardin has dedicated his career to excellence and service. A proven leader, who believes in putting people first, he champions those working to strengthen our community today and protect the opportunities of tomorrow. Guided by integrity and experience, Ron has prioritized six strategic pillars that put Chandler families and future generations first.

From securing reliable water and power to planning for growth, and aging population, and housing affordability, Chandler faces real challenges ahead. Ron's experience equips him to navigate these headwinds thoughtfully--making balanced, informed decision on land use and long-term sustainability that protect our quality of life.
  • Water and Energy An ongoing challenge in desert regions is the effective management of water and energy resources, particularly as large-scale industrial developments such as data centers demand substantial inputs of both. As future projects in Chandler are planned, it will be essential that I thoughtfully address the concerns of fellow residents regarding potential impacts on their quality of life.
  • Economic Development Balancing Growth with Quality of Life Chandler must balance the need for economic development and job creation with residents' concerns about quality of life, noise, traffic, and preserving the community's character. I will advocate for and support responsible growth. Adhering to the General Plan I am committed to ensuring new developments align with the City's voter-approved General Plan, which designates certain areas for high-value, knowledge-based jobs rather than industrial uses with minimal on-site employment. Demographic Shifts The city's growing yet aging population requires envisioning new ways to maintain strong economic vitality and meet changing service expectations.
  • Public Safety First Responder Health and Wellness A key area of interest is to explore how best to mitigate health risks associated with the job. Cancer Prevention For firefighters, this includes ensuring funds are available to acquire the necessary equipment, tools and resources needed to reduce exposure to carcinogens. Mental Health I will promote access to on-site and telehealth mental health services for both police and fire personnel to address job-related stress and trauma. Technology and Infrastructure With a career dedicated to this field, I understand firsthand how technology drives innovation and transformation. I am committed to supporting the acquisition of advanced tools and facilities needed for the future.
In addition to water, economic development and public safety, I also have strong interests in Infrastructure, Education and Affordability.
Mark Stewart, Maricopa County Supervisor, District 1

  • Leadership: I spent over 20 years leading and mentoring teams of business and technology professionals for medium and large corporations across several industries. Much of my success can be attributed to listening and working with my teams to build strategies for success. I describe my leadership style as firm but fair.
  • Integrity: I am accountable for my actions, have compassion for others and therefore build trust in my relationships.
  • Experienced problem-solver: I am a critical thinker that seeks to solution through obtaining a grasp on root-cause; developing a critical path; and getting things done with a focus on measurable outcomes.
1) Arizona’s economy - I will work with all stakeholders on policy strategies to attract, diversify our portfolio and retain businesses including SMB and large corporations across our state. 2) Securing our border (immigration) - I will work with legislatures, from both parties, Governor, SOS, AG, Treasurer, border officials and community stakeholders to examine our existing statutes or create new policies that streamline Arizona's processes and our ability to execute solving these issues. 3) Educating a prepared workforce – Arizona’s ability to execute the plan for growth is highly dependent on its ability to develop a pipeline of qualified workers. This pipeline will need to consist of candidates from higher education, trade disciplines, and veterans.
