Ron Tamburrino
Ron Tamburrino was a 2016 candidate for the Ohio Eleventh District Court of Appeals.[1] He was defeated.
He was previously a 2014 candidate for the same court.[2]
On December 9, 2016, the Ohio Supreme Court suspended Tamburrino from the practice of law for one year, with six months of the sentence stayed as long as Tamburrino "commit[s] no further misconduct" and attends a six-hour continuing legal education (CLE) course. The suspension is the court's sentence for making statements about his incumbent opponent during his 2014 campaign that the court ruled were "patently false." Two justices on the high court dissented from the court's ruling, saying that the statements at issue "appear[] to have at least some truth, to be substantially true, or to be subject to differing interpretations," which would place them within the bounds of First Amendment protection.[3]
Education
Tamburrino received his undergraduate degree from the University of Akron and his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law.[4]
