Ron Welper was a Republican candidate for District 11 of the Iowa State Senate. The primary election was on June 8, 2010 and the general election was on November 2.

Campaign themes

2010

Ron Welper outlined these issues as his main concerns:

  • Jobs - “I am running because I want to help employers create jobs so we can grow our state again. I want my children and future generations of Iowans to be able to pursue their dreams in Iowa, find a rewarding career and raise their families in safe communities and good schools."
  • Budget - "As your senator, I will only vote for responsible and fiscally sustainable budgets that reflect your priorities, reduce our taxes and encourage job creation.”

Welper was unopposed in the June 8 Republican primary and was defeated by Democratic incumbent William Dotzler by a margin of 10,459 to 6,126 in the November 2 general election.[1]
