|- • Mesa’s Financial Stability & Quality of Life One of my top 3 goals as a city council member include maintaining financial stability for the city. We have some challenges coming for our city, and I just want us, as a city, to be proactive, to ensure we increase public safety resources to ensure safe streets, and sustain the high quality of life we enjoy in this city. My ultimate goal is to ensure the safety and prosperity of Mesa residents.
- • Supporting Public Safety & Safe Neighborhoods My commitment to supporting our Public Safety officials is well documented. During the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic, while many people & organizations chose to hibernate and quarantine for safety, I continued my work to help bridge the gap between police and community relations, as President of the HeroZona Foundation. Police work by its very nature involves carrying out difficult duties that challenge the psychological well-being of even the strongest individuals. As a Mesa City Councilmember, I look forward to finding unique ways to increase police recruitment, and develop a solid and sustainable plan for retention of officers. I'm endorsed by the Mesa Police Foundation.
- • Addressing Housing Needs of Mesa Residents I obviously can’t change the housing market. A lot of people want to live in Mesa. And, because there are not a lot of new homes being build in Mesa, I think we need to look at opportunities where they exist. One opportunity could involve looking at underutilized properties to determine the possibility of using those properties for potential attainable housing. Every opportunity should be explored.
