Ron de Yong
Ron de Yong is a former Montana Director of Agriculture. He was first appointed in 2007 and retired in 2017.[1][2]
Biography
After receiving his two bachelor's degrees, de Yong worked as a farmer for 20 years before deciding to go back to school to get his master's in economics. This led him to become a professor at California Polytechnic State University for seven years. De Yong has also been an economist for the National Farmers Union.[3]

Political career
Director of Agriculture (2007-2017)
De Yong was first appointed as Montana Director of Agriculture in 2007. He was appointed to replace Nancy K. Peterson, who died of cancer.[3] De Yong retired on January 6, 2017, after nearly 10 years in the position.[2]
