The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Leslie Love defeated Ronald Cole, Brandon Jessup, Jay Johnson and Roy McCalister, Jr. in the Democratic primary. Matthew Hauser was unopposed in the Republican primary.
