Ronald D. Spears

Ronald D. Spears is a former resident judge of the Fourth Circuit in Christian County, Illinois. He was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court on August 1, 1993. He was elected to a full term in 1994 and was retained in 2000, 2006 and 2012. Spears retired in December 2015.[1][2][3]
Education
Spears received his B.A. from the University of Illinois in 1974 and his J.D. from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1977.[2]

Federal judgeship recommendation
In February of 2010 Senator Dick Durbin recommended Spears to President Obama for a seat on the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois.[4]

Spears was retained on November 6, 2012, with 75.5 percent of the vote.[5]
