Candidate Connection

Ronald DeBlauw participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on May 8, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Ronald DeBlauw's responses follow below.[2]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Idaho is a A+ place to live, exceptional people. It far succeeds the national averages in quality of life, but the wages for the people of Idaho are so far below the national averages, per Bureau of Labor Statistics, and our Educations system is also far below the national averages. Wages need to come up to national standards the same as our education system. Bringing in high tech jobs, higher paying jobs. Keeping our taxes low. I’ll introduce Legislation to start a pilot program with the prison system, Criminal restitution, training, and work program. Criminals need not only to pay restitution to the victims, but for their incarceration cost, not the taxpayers. convicts will receive a reduced sentence once they complete the program, this will reduce overcrowding and we won’t need to spend additional taxpayers’ dollars to build more prisons. www.Deblauwforidaho.com[3][4]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

Taking my education and life experience and make the quality of life better for the people of Idaho.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[4]

See my website, its more than issues and solutions, it shows how I think, if we discuss problems we must always discuss solutions, without thinking of Political parties. PAC, Groups or associations. We must think will this Legislation be good for the taxpayers, the community.[4]
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
I like to find solutions to problems, I'm straight forward, representing the people not special interest groups, When you serve in the United States Military, your serve America, honor the Constitution, not a special interest.[4]

I tell them get involved it the issues and solutions, not extreme political posturing or unlawful protest.[4]

Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?
To many politicians obstruct good policy's, they put special interest groups before the people, Everyone has been talking about term limits for a long time, but Some are in office for decades, I say, resign and let someone have a chance to make our country better and promote a high quality of life.[4]
