Ronald Gilman
Ronald Lee Gilman is a federal judge on senior status with the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. He joined the court in 1997 after being nominated by President Bill Clinton.[1]
Early life and education
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Gilman graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with his bachelor's degree in 1964 and from Harvard Law School with his J.D. in 1967.[1]

Gilman was nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit by President Bill Clinton on July 16, 1997, to a seat vacated by Judge Herbert Milburn. The American Bar Association rated Gilman Unanimously Well Qualified for the nomination.[2] Hearings on Gilman's nomination were held before the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary on September 30, 1997, and his nomination was reported by U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) on October 9, 1997. Gilman was confirmed on a recorded 98-1 vote of the U.S. Senate on November 6, 1997, and he received his commission the next day. Gilman assumed senior status on November 21, 2010.[1][3] He was succeeded in this position by Judge Bernice Donald.
