Ronald Holdaway
Ronald Holdaway is a federal judge for the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. He joined the court in 1990 after being nominated by President George H.W. Bush. Holdaway retired in November 2002 and was recalled to senior status.[1]
Education
Holdaway earned his B.A. and law degrees from the University of Wyoming in 1957 and 1959, respectively.[1]
Military service
After earning his legal degree, Holdaway joined the U.S. Army infantry as a second lieutenant. While in the army, Holdaway took courses at:
- Infantry Officer Basic Course
- Basic and Advanced Courses at the Judge Advocate General's School
- United States Army Command and General Staff College
- Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University
While serving in the Army, Holdaway served in the following posts:
- Chief Judge, United States Army Court of Military Review
- Commander, United States Army Legal Services Agency
- Judge Advocate of United States Army Europe and Seventh Army in Heidelberg, Germany
- Executive to the Judge Advocate General
- Assistant Judge Advocate General for Civil Law
- Staff Judge Advocate of the lst Calvary Division
- Deputy/Chief of the Government Appellate Division of the U.S. Army Judiciary
- Chief of Personnel, Plans and Training Office, Office of the Judge Advocate General
Holdaway retired as a Brigadier General in 1989.[1]

Holdaway's professional career, prior to joining the court, was in military service.[1]

Holdaway was nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims by President George H.W. Bush and was confirmed by the Senate. He joined the court in 1990. Holdaway left the court in November 2002 and was recalled to senior status.[1]
