Ronald N. Murch was a judge for the Anderson County General Sessions Court Division II in Anderson County, Tennessee. He was based out of Clinton, Tennessee.[1] He was appointed to the court in 1993 and was elected the following year. He was re-elected in 1998 and 2006, but lost re-election in 2014 to Roger Miller. He left the bench on August 31, 2014.[2][3]

Murch ran for re-election to the Anderson County General Sessions Court.
Primary: He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014.
General: He was defeated in the general election on August 7, 2014, after receiving 46.7 percent of the vote. He competed against Roger Miller. [3][4][5][6][7]

Education

Murch received his B.S. degree in business management from Indiana University in 1970 and his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1976. Prior to law school, from 1970 to 1972, he served in the U.S. Army. Later, he also attended a Special Jurisdiction Advance Course at the National Judicial College.[2]

Career

Murch began his career in 1976 as a private practice lawyer and as corporate counsel for the City of Oak Ridge. He held those positions until his judicial appointment in 1993.[2]
