Ronald Van Rensalier

Ronald Van Rensalier is an at-large representative on the Passaic school board in New Jersey. First elected to the board in 2006, he won re-election to the board twice in 2009 and 2012. He won re-election again on April 21, 2015. He was part of a slate campaign with fellow incumbents Salim Patel and Byron Bustos. The slate also ran together successfully in 2009 and 2012.
Biography
Van Rensalier was born in Paterson, N.J. He was appointed to serve as the community development director for Passaic in 2001. Prior to that position, he had worked in the Passaic Housing Authority for 22 years. He is a co-founder of the Huntoon-Van Rensalier Underground Railroad Foundation, an advisory board member of the Passaic Boys and Girls Club, a director on the Passaic P.A.L. Board and the past president of Passaic For The Kids, Inc.[1]

Three at-large seats on Passaic's school board were up for election on April 21, 2015. At-large incumbents Byron Bustos, Salim Patel and Ronald Van Rensalier defeated returning challenger Rene Griggs.[2] The three incumbents, Bustos, Patel and Van Rensalier, ran as a slate called "Passaic School Board 2015."

Van Rensalier reported no contributions or expenditures to the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission as of April 17, 2015.[3]
Endorsements
Ronald Van Rensalier, Salim Patel and Byron Bustos' slate was endorsed by Mayor Alex D. Blanco, City Council President Gary S. Schaer and Councilwoman Zaida Polanco. Polanco also works as the director of human resources for the school district.[4]
