Ronnie Chatterji is running for the Treasurer of North Carolina. He is currently a Professor of Corporate Strategy at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and Sanford School of Public Policy where he applies his passion to study the intersection of business and public policy. During President Obama's first term, Ronnie left Duke to serve as a Senior Economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers (CEA). In this role, he worked on policies relating to entrepreneurship, innovation, infrastructure, and economic growth. He is also Chatterji is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and was previously a visiting Associate Professor at The Harvard Business School.

In addition to teaching, Ronnie does extensive research investigating the most important forces shaping our economy and how business leaders can use their power to effect social change. He even co-authored "Can Business Save the Earth?" in 2018 to further examine this issue. Ronnie is also a frequent keynote speaker and experienced facilitator with top companies in healthcare, technology, energy, retail, and sports.

I am passionate about increasing access to quality and affordable healthcare across North Carolina. The Treasurer oversees the state employee health plan, which covers over 700,000 North Carolinians in both rural and urban areas. If elected, I would prioritize implementing policies that lower healthcare costs for this constituency and use my leverage to improve healthcare, more broadly across the state.
