Rosa Franklin
Rosa Franklin was a Democratic member of the Washington State Senate. She has represented District 29 since 1993. Franklin was President Pro Tempore and had served in that position since 2001. In 1997 she was Democratic Whip, in 1998 Majority Whip, and in 2003 Assistant Democratic Floor Leader. Previously, Franklin served the Washington State House of Representatives from 1991 to 1993.[1]
Franklin attended Good Samaritan Waverly Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She went on to earn her B.A. in Biology/English from the University of Puget Sound in 1968. She then received her M.A. in Social Sciences/Human Relations from Pacific Lutheran University in 1974. She was a part of the Gynecorp Training Program from the University of Washington in 1974.[2]
Franklin is a retired registered nurse.

On May 4, 2010, Senator Franklin announced that she would not run for re-election in 2010. State Representative Steve Conway was elected to the District 29 Senate seat. Independent Ken Paulson and Republican Terry Harder ran for the seat in the November 2, 2010, general election.[3][4]
2006
In November 2006, Franklin ran unopposed and was re-elected for the 29th District of the Washington State Senate receiving 17,496 votes.
Franklin raised $41,430 for her campaign.[5]
