I'll reinforce student emotional and mental well-being. I'll enhance an environment of open communication and transparency. I'll further connect schools with our community through student-led initiatives

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I'll promote FUHSD's continued excellence through comprehensive high school programs I'll support our teachers and staff and their advancement via targeted training

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

I respect current and previous FUHSD board members, spending personal time and energy to contribute to schools and community. I talked to most of them one-on-one and received valuable lessons.

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?

The duty of FUHSD board position is to serve local schools and students. I don't pursue political agenda but will devote to this duty faithfully.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

As a school board member, I'll make sure decisions go through transparent and diligent discussion among all stakeholders.

Rosa Kim has worked at Silicon Valley Korean School since 2007. She started as a bilingual class teacher for various age groups and later served as the vice principal and the principal. Currently she is working as the director of Community Center. She has organized annual Teacher Seminars for local school teachers from 2008 and co-founded summer history camp for students from 3rd grade to high school. She is also the co-author of two history and culture textbooks. She majored in Educational Psychology at Ewha Womans University in South Korea.[2]
