Two of the five seats on the Chula Vista Elementary School District Board of Education were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. The race for the open Area 2 seat featured candidates Hans D'Oleire, Armando Farias, Willard "Doc" Howard, Michael Deangelo Jackson, and Rosa Maria Robles. Farias won election to the seat. In her bid for re-election to Area 4, incumbent Glendora Tremper was defeated by challenger Laurie Humphrey.[1][2]
