I'm a proud Houstonian who has dedicated my life to serving my community and fighting for the values that inspire change in my community. I bring my experience, passion and vision so you will trust me enough to elect me to serve you in the Texas House of Representatives for District 139.

As a Democratic Party Precinct Chair I know that Houstonians want their leaders to fight for an equitable economy, not just the super rich. That is the type of leadership I will bring to Austin. I know that healthcare is a human right and will fight for women's health, and healthcare equity for underserved communities. Our democracy is under attack and I am committed to protecting our democracy.

I was born in Tulsa Ok, and graduated from the historic HBCU, Huston Tillotson University with a degree in Criminal Justice. I have been a tireless advocate for the local community for years on issues such as education, women’s healthcare rights, and criminal justice. I know the challenges and opportunities that Houstonians face in Texas with an overreaching state government, and I will fight Houstonians in Austin.

I am married, and have three daughters, who all, as a close-knit family, worship as members of Lighthouse Church. I love spending time with my family and friends, and enjoying the outdoors.

I am a democratic leader who has proven my commitment to serving the community. I am ready to serve you as your next state representative.
  • Texas is ranked 2nd worst for women’s healthcare. I stand behind my commitment to protect a woman's right to choose in Texas. Access to safe and legal abortion is a vital component of healthcare for women. I believe that every woman should have the right to make decisions about her own body and her own future. I will continue to support policies that protect women's health, safety, and autonomy. I am committed to ensuring that women in Texas have access to the healthcare they need and deserve. As your representative, I will work tirelessly to ensure that women's reproductive rights are protected and that they have access to the care they need.
  • Texas has been facing a growing healthcare crisis with increasing healthcare costs and limited access to affordable healthcare for its citizens. Texas ranks as the 8th worst state in the nation for healthcare and has the worst uninsured rate by a big margin. At a time when access to affordable healthcare is more important than ever, I am committed to working towards making it a reality for all Texans. As a dedicated advocate for public health, I understand healthcare's critical role in the lives of individuals and families. I believe that everyone should have access to quality healthcare, regardless of their income or background.
  • Texas is ranked 8th worst business climate for the LGBTQ+ community, 6 out of 10 Texas cities are named among the least LGBTQ+ friendly, and Texas is one of the worst states for the LGBTQ+ community. As your state representative, it is my duty to ensure that every Texan is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, race, or religion. I strongly believe that LGBTQ and basic human rights are fundamental to our society, and I am committed to fighting for these rights every day. I understand that discrimination against the LGBTQ community is still prevalent in many areas of our state, and it is unacceptable. I will work tirelessly to pass legislation that protects LGBTQ Texans from discrimination
Texas is facing a serious environmental crisis as it continues to rank first in the United States for toxic dumping in our waterways. The state is grappling with emerging threats to its waterways, including the presence of PFAS forever chemicals, which have contaminated drinking water around the state. This has put people at risk of developing cancer, liver damage, and infertility. The situation demands immediate attention and action from all stakeholders. As your state representative, I am committed to ensuring that all Texans have access to clean and affordable water. Water is a basic necessity of life, and it's our responsibility to make sure that it's available to everyone.
We believe that the qualities of an ideal elected official should include honesty, integrity, transparency, accountability, and a commitment to serving the public interest.
First and foremost, a successful officeholder is a great communicator. This means being able to articulate your vision for your community or district, and being able to listen to the concerns of your constituents. Additionally, a successful officeholder is a strategic thinker. You need to be able to identify the root causes of problems and develop effective solutions.

Another important quality is the ability to work collaboratively. No one person can solve all the problems facing a community or district - you need to be able to work with others to achieve your goals. This means building relationships with other elected officials, community leaders, and stakeholders.

Finally, a successful officeholder is passionate about their community. You need to have a deep understanding of the issues facing your community, and a commitment to making a positive difference.
