William Roscoe Reynolds is a former Democratic member of the Virginia State Senate, representing the 20th District from 1997 to 2012.

Reynolds received an A.B. in political science at Duke University and an LL.B. at Lee University. Reynolds is a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

In addition to serving as senator Reynolds works as a lawyer. From 1986-1997 Reynolds served on the House of Delegates.

Reynolds represented Virginia Senate District 20. Senate District 20 includes Carroll, Floyd County, Galax, Grayson(part), Henry County, Martinsville, Wythe(part).

At least two incumbent Republican senators affected by state legislative redistricting have moved to avoid primary contests with other incumbents. As a result of the moves, former District 19 incumbent Bill Stanley (R) challenged Reynolds in District 20. The contentious race was expected to draw millions in campaign contributions.[1]

Reynolds was defeated by District 19 incumbent Bill Stanley in the November 8 general election. Independent candidate W. Jeff Evans was also on the ticket.Cite error: Closing </ref> missing for <ref> tag

On Nov. 6, 2007, Reynolds won re-election to the 20th District Seat in the Virginia State Senate, defeating opponent Jeff Evans (R).[3]

Reynolds raised $547,302 for his campaign while Evans raised $169,440.[4]
