I am a resident of the Joslyn Castle Neighborhood and I take the bus downtown to work regularly. I have 9 years of experience in the transportation industry. I currently work as a data scientist at Union Pacific Railroad. I spend some of my free time gardening and I enjoy learning about the relationships between native plants and the bees, butterflies and other creatures that need them.
  • Sustainability is a passion of mine. The things we build should be built to last, and we need to budget for maintenance and repairs. I am also passionate about data driven decisions. We can run the busses more efficiently by matching the bus size and frequency to the actual demand.
  • We also need creative new solutions to reach our customers. When service interruptions occur, we need better communication than what is currently in place so that passengers are not left waiting for a bus that isn't coming. We should also be creative about getting users to try the bus once, and explore ways to get downtown tourists to visit other great Omaha businesses that are reachable by bus..
  • Our service needs to be reliable. If staffing shortages are causing missed routes, we need to find effective ways to connect workers with the high-paying jobs that metro offers. If weather is causing issues, we need to be proactive with communication so that riders are not left out in the cold.
I am passionate about reliable service and responsible budgeting. I am also looking forward to bringing new ideas for serving our customers better and encouraging new riders to try Metro Transit services for the first time.
Metro Transit provides people with an economical way to travel. A growing number of people do not have their own cars and they need to get to their jobs, grocery stores and other destinations.
I want to be more like Jesus. Healing broken people and loving others well.
Integrity. Elected officials need to serve the needs of their community and keep absolutely free of bribes, money that has strings attached and voting advantages to themselves.
The Metro Transit Board oversees routes, policies, budgets and taxes related to operation of the Omaha Metro Transit system.
I picked and sold apples at an apple orchard. The job lasted for the harvest season, 1-2 months.
My favorite book is the Bible. Most other books are read only once, but this one has something new to offer each time I read it. It shows how to know God, love others well and how to reach heaven when this life is over.
Sometimes time in office is time away from regular people and disconnection from the issues of the people. I think it is more important that people in this office have business sense so they can manage the budget and future growth effectively.
Holders of this office ideally would be users of the product they manage (the busses). They should be good with business strategies and budgets. Also, they should be kind and respectful in their communication so that they bring out the best in the people they oversee.
Full transparency, power to the people. Shine the light on everything
